Chinese New Year 2004: The Year of the Monkey begins with a trip to Pi Shan Temple

Date: January 22, 2004

After a festive evening at her family's home for New Year's Eve dinner, we got up early the next morning and trekked up the mountain to Pi Shan Temple.

The ritual is to go pray for good luck for the coming year on the first day. As this is a mischievous Year of the Monkey, it doesn't hurt to have all the luck you can get.
